scenic Annapolis Basin, the Parks

The Tree Topper Adventure
Park is a place to have fun, test your
courage and overcome your fears!
It offers an adventure in the sky
with a variety of obstacles: 14 zip
lines, (one spans 410 feet across a
Canada and by plunging down the
sky-high flume ride. Crash and
bang in bumper boats, whirl down
the huge water slide or just relax on
the Ferris wheel and paddle boats.
On-site restaurants offer great
food and a variety of beverages. Ice
cream, cotton candy, popcorn,
candy apples and other delicious
treats are available throughout the
Park. Don't miss the famous extra-

goodies at the Homestyle Bakery.

Historic Gardens is a premiere
Nova Scotia attraction with
gardens representing more than
four hundred years of local history.
These incredible Gardens have
been garnering national and
international recognition. In 2013
the Gardens were selected as one of
the “Top 5 North American
Gardens Worth Travelling For”. In
2014, “Today’s Parent” praised the
Gardens as one of the “Best
Botanical Gardens in Canada for
Families”, and the Canadian
Tourism Commission named it as
“One of Canada’s Great Garden
Gems”. Most recently, in an awards
ceremony in Toronto, the Historic
Gardens was recognized by the
Canadian Garden Council as
“Canada’s 2015 Garden of the
Year”.
The Historic Gardens delights
visitors of all ages with themed
gardens, colourful collections and
unique displays. The Rose
Collection is a feast for the senses
with 270 rose cultivars and
thousands of fragrant and colourful
blossoms. Other favourites include
the stunning Victorian Garden, a
hillside Rock Garden, a colourful
Perennial Border and an 18th
century Governor’s Garden. The
modern Innovative Garden is
popular with visitors interested in
how to design a compact and
sustainable vegetable garden.
The Acadian section is very
special, featuring the only
archeologically authenticated
replica of a pre-deportation
Acadian dwelling in the Maritime
region, complete with a thatched
roof. The adjacent potager is based
on Acadian diary notes, the orchard
th
and willow hedge are 17 century
cultivars, and the dykewalk
surrounds land first cultivated
centuries ago.This garden is based
on a 1671 time period when Port-
Royal (later Annapolis Royal) was
the centre of Acadie, and a sign lists
the family names from the 1671
census.
As you stroll around, pay
special attention to the various
sculptures throughout the gardens.
Be sure to take time to browse in the
Gardens Shop, featuring Maritime
handcrafts, and to relax with a
coffee or lemonade in the shade of a
giant weeping elm on the patio of
the Elm Tree Café.
